Caroline Brown

Caroline is a Trainee Executry Manager in our Private Client team.

Working alongside Partner Susan Duff in Cupar, Caroline helps clients through the whole executry administration process from start to finish. She looks after the day-to-day administration of executry estates including assisting executors in winding up an estate and dealing with Inheritance Tax issues.

Caroline has over 20 years’ experience in the legal profession. She has previously worked in the fields of Business Law, Intellectual Property and Personal Injury.

Jennifer Sturrock

Jennifer is a Senior Solicitor in our Dundee Private Client team.

Working alongside Partner Chris Gardiner, Jennifer advises clients on a wide range of Private Client matters including Executry administration, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax planning, Care Home Cost planning and Legal Rights issues. Jennifer also has experience in advising clients on completing guardianship applications and representing them at guardianship hearings.

Brooke Stephen

Brooke is a Senior Solicitor in our Angus Private Client team. Working alongside Stuart Mackie, Brooke advises individual and family clients on the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney. She can also assist with estate administration.

Yana Lagatski

Part of our Edinburgh Private Client team, Yana is a Supervisory Executry Manager working with Partner Morna Coutts. She specialises in the administration of complex executry estates with particular interest in executry work with various Inheritance Tax aspects as well as cross-border estates.

Stephanie Hayes

Stephanie is a Trust Manager in our Dundee and Angus Private Client teams.

Working alongside Partner Stuart Mackie, Stephanie handles the management and administration of trusts including all Trust compliance work, winding up trusts, charity administration and submission of annual accounts to OSCR. She can also advise on the completion of the Inheritance Tax (IHT) 10 year charge. Stephanie has over 6 years’ experience working on all manner of Trust’s from Charitable Trust’s, Discretionary Trust’s, Liferent and Personal Injury Trust’s

Dylan Mitchell

Dylan is a key member of the firm’s busy Private Client department in Fife. Having joined Thorntons in April 2024, and based in our St Andrews and Cupar offices, Dylan assists individuals and their families with a range of Private Client matters, from Wills and Powers of Attorney to Trusts and succession planning.

Hannah Haig

Based in our Dundee office, Hannah is a Trainee Trust Manager in our Private Client team.

Working alongside Partner Morna Coutts, Senior Trust Manager Glyn Roberts and the Dundee Trust team, Hannah advises on trust administration. This involves setting up new trusts, the preparation of legal documents, maintaining trust cash balances and making sure payments are received and paid on time.

Hannah is well known by her clients for her approachability and her fast response time.

Elaine Grzywa

Working alongside Chris Gardiner, Joanne Todd and Corah Franco, Elaine is Executry Supervisor in our Dundee Private Client team.

Knowledgeable and customer-focused, she handles executry administration for clients from start to finish, including working on estates which are complex or contentious, and dealing with Inheritance Tax estate issues.

Glyn Roberts

Working alongside Partner Chris Gardiner, Glyn is a Senior Trust Manager and Trust Accountant in our Private Client team. He is generally based in our Dundee office but also on occasion in Arbroath and Edinburgh.

Anna MacLeod-Adams

Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as Specialist Paralegal in Wills and Executries.

Based in our Inverness office, Anna is an Executry Manager working with Partner Magnus Mackay. Friendly and approachable, Anna assists clients following a bereavement, looking to build a positive rapport with them at what she knows can be a difficult time. She specialises in executry administration, applications for Confirmation, Inheritance Tax returns, legal rights claims and settling estates with beneficiaries.
