Anne Black

Anne is a Senior Executry Manager in our Private Client team in Fife working with Audrey Dishington. She advises on intestate estates, testate estates, foreign estates, legal rights, appropriations, Inheritance Tax, Deeds of Variation and preparation of Executry Accounts for clients, and has over 20 years’ experience in this area. She is also a Scottish Law Accountant and has been a member of Solicitors of Law Accountants in Scotland since the 1980s.

Cathy Munro

Approachable and client-centred, Cathy is a Senior Executry Manager working in both our Cupar and St Andrews offices. She works alongside Susan Duff, Audrey Dishington and Lisa Hainey.

Marie Fortune

As an Executry Manager in our Private Client team in Cupar, Marie specialises in executries and deals with testate and intestate estates, Inheritance Tax issues and applying for Confirmation. She works with Partners Stephanie Pratt and Susan Duff, and Legal Directors Lisa Hainey and Sue Arrowsmith Rodger.

Marie has over 25 years’ experience in this area, and holds the University of Strathclyde Certificate of Performance in Specialist Paralegal Studies in Wills, Trusts and Executries.

Linda Reid

Based in Dundee, Linda is a Tax Assistant in our Private Client team, working alongside Audrey Ford. 

She helps clients deal with their tax issues, completing Self-Assessment Tax Returns and Capital Gains Tax 60-day Returns for individuals, working with our Trust clients on completing Trust Tax Returns, dealing with Estate Returns and administration period reporting, and handling any related tax compliance work.

Ashley McGonagle

Working with Partners Anne McKeown and Stuart Mackie, Ashley is Senior Executry Manager in our Private Client team in Arbroath.

Approachable and client-centred, she handles all aspects of executry administration, including complex Inheritance Tax estate administration and complex farming estates, with clear, practical advice and support for clients throughout the process.

Ashley has 24 years of experience in this area, and is a qualified Wills, Trusts and Executries Paralegal, as well as holding a Diploma from the Society of Law Accountants in Scotland and CLT Scotland.

Michelle Wilson

Based in our Cupar office, Michelle is a Senior Executry Manager in our Private Client team, working with Partners Susan Duff and Stephanie Pratt. Michelle focuses solely on executries.

With 26 years of experience and a BA (Hons) Law with a Diploma in Conveyancing and Executry Services Law, Michelle has dealt with all aspects of Executry Law, both estate and intestate, as well as Inheritance Tax estates, and is committed to providing a first-class service to her clients.

Nicole Whitton

An Executry Manager in our Private Client team, Nicole is based in our Dundee and Arbroath offices, working alongside Audrey Dishington. She looks after the administration of testate and intestate estates for clients, including the day-to-day administration of executry estates, assisting executors in the process of winding-up estate, and dealing with Inheritance Tax issues.

Natalie Holden

Working with supervising Partner Audrey Dishington, Natalie is a Trust Manager in our Dundee and St Andrews teams. Natalie assists Trustees with the management and administration of both new and old Trusts, including all Trust compliance work, winding-up Trusts, Charity administration and submission of annual accounts to OSCR. Natalie also manages the Financial Guardianship administration Clients for the firm.

Gillian McDonald

Gillian is a Trust Manager based in our Dundee office, working as part of the Trust team with Supervising Partner Stephanie Pratt. She is involved in Trust management and administration, including all Trust compliance work, liaising with Trustees and beneficiaries, and ensuring Trusts meet their filing and reporting requirements including Trust Registration and FATCA/CRS. Gillian is also involved with winding up Trusts and Charity administration and submission of annual accounts to OSCR.

Thorntons charity Wills campaign raises £43,500 for vulnerable families and children

Children and families across Tayside, Fife and Edinburgh are benefiting from Thorntons’ latest charity wills initiative, which raised £43,500 for Radio Forth and Radio Tay’s Cash for Kids campaigns.

Every September Thorntons’ offices in Edinburgh, Bonnyrigg, Fife, Dundee, Perth and Angus waive their fees for those making wills, asking them to instead donate an equivalent sum to the charity.

The campaign has raised over £600,000 for Cash for Kids since it was established more than 27 years ago.
