Jenni Millar

Jenni is a first seat Trainee Solicitor in the Private Client team, having joined Thorntons in September 2024.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Edinburgh.

Prior to commencing her Training Contract at Thorntons, Jenni gained valuable experience working as a paralegal in the property team of a large central belt firm, working on the pre and post completion conveyancing processes of hundreds of properties.

Jack Chapman

Jack is a first seat Trainee Solicitor in the Private Client team, having joined Thorntons in September 2024.

He has a particular interest in Private Client matters such as intestacy and family wealth management.

Jack graduated with a Scots and English Dual Qualifying LLB and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Dundee.  

Zara Balling

Zara is a first seat Trainee Solicitor in the Private Client team having joined Thorntons in September 2024. 

She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Edinburgh.

Zara has a particular interest in legal services for individuals and families, and prides herself on her empathetic approach and taking time to understand each client’s individual needs.

Laura Minto

Laura is a first seat Trainee Solicitor in the Private Client team, having commenced her Traineeship in September 2024.

Prior to commencing her Training Contract, Laura worked as a Paralegal in our specialist Personal Injury team, before gaining further experience as a Conveyancing Paralegal in the busy Residential Property team.

Laura graduated from The University of Dundee with a First Class Honours Scots Law Degree (LLB) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice with Distinction.

Freja Nilsson

Freja is a first seat Trainee Solicitor in Private Client, assisting individuals and families in planning their personal affairs. 

She joined Thorntons in 2022 working in the busy Dispute Resolution & Claims team, before commencing her Traineeship in September 2024.

Freja graduated with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Abertay University and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Edinburgh.

Daisy Johnston

Daisy is a first seat Trainee in the Private Client team, having commenced her Training Contract with Thorntons in September 2024.

Prior to commencing her Training Contract, Daisy gained valuable experience in residential property and family, and prides herself on understanding each client’s unique needs and providing clear focussed advice.

Daisy graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Dundee.

Sofia Renshaw

Working alongside Partners Graeme Dickson and Morna Coutts, Sofia is a Solicitor in our Edinburgh Private Client team.

Sofia advises a wide range of clients on Private Client matters including Wills, Powers of Attorney and Executries. She also had experience in residential conveyancing during her traineeship.

Sofia is very personable and friendly. She always strives to approach both her clients and work in this manner.

Before joining Thorntons, Sofia studied for her LLB (Hons) and DipPLP at the University of Edinburgh. She’s also a Notary Public.

Ailidh Hay

Working alongside Partner Stephanie Pratt, Ailidh advises clients on a wide range of matters including executry administration (both testate and intestate), the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney and the creation of trusts. She can also assist with Inheritance Tax (IHT) Planning and legal rights issues. Ailidh is particularly interested in executries with foreign aspects.

Graham Hill

Working alongside Partner, Chris Gardiner, Graham is a Solicitor in our Dundee Private Client team. He advises individuals and families on a range of Private Client matters including Executry administration, Wills, Powers of Attorney and legal rights issues.

Client care is very important to Graham. He is very client centred and always looks to make the legal process as clear and easy as possible.

Perry McEwan

Perry is a Solicitor in our Private Client team in Inverness.

Working alongside Magnus Mackay, Perry advises clients from all different backgrounds on the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Living Wills (Advance Directives).

Perry also has experience in Family Law and Litigation, specialising in divorce and child matters.

Perry prides herself in her ability to create strong and meaningful relationships with the clients she works with. She ensures she is approachable and understanding of each clients individual circumstances and legal needs.
