From 1 April 2025, Macnabs Solicitors merged with leading Scottish firm Thorntons uniting two of the most prominent firms in Perthshire and Stirlingshire and significantly bolstering legal services across the region. The merger will reinforce both firms’ strength and depth across their comprehensive service lines, giving clients access to expert advice and support.

I have an ongoing matter, what should I do?
You should have been contacted about any ongoing matters Macnabs were dealing with for you, outlining what will happen next and what you need to do. If you haven’t heard anything please contact us
I have an upcoming appointment booked, will it go ahead?
If you have an appointment arranged it will go ahead as planned. However you will now be instructing Thorntons. If for any reason the appointment needs to be changed someone will contact you to arrange another convenient date. Appointments will be carried our virtually or in person where required.
Are Macnabs offices still open?
Offices at Barossa Place and Kinnoull Street will remain open until Thursday 17 April after which time they will close and the people there relocate to Thorntons’ offices at Whitefriars House, 7 Whitefriars Crescent, Perth PH2 0PA from Tuesday 22 April.
Macnabs’ office at Bridge of Allan will remain open. Pitlochry and Blairgowrie offices are now closed however clients can contact any Thorntons’ office for advice.
Macnabs hold my Will, do I need to do anything?
If you have used Macnabs in the past and the firm held a Will for you, you don’t need to do anything at the current time. Following the merger, all files and documents previously held by Macnabs are now in the safe custody of Thorntons.
We appreciate you may be concerned about these important documents and we can reassure you that any documents held on your behalf by Macnabs will continue to be stored securely by Thorntons. Macnabs hold my property Titles, do I need to do anything?
If you have used Macnabs in the past and the firm held a Title Deeds for you, you don’t need to do anything at the current time. Following the merger, all files and documents previously held by Macnabs are now in the safe custody of Thorntons.
