Leading law firm has achieves its biggest ever fundraising total for annual Charity Wills Campaign.
Charity Wills Cheque Presentation 2015
An impressive £35,000 has been raised for Cash for Kids following the firm's Charity Wills Month, which was held last November. This total is a staggering £12,000 more than the total raised in 2014.
The firm has taken part in an annual campaign since 1996 to highlight the importance of creating and keeping an up-to-date Will, while also raising money for a great cause. Clients are invited to give a charitable donation instead of paying a fee to the firm for drafting or updating Wills during November. Thorntons donates all the money raised to charity and has achieved a total of more than £215,000 over the last 18 years.
Cash for Kids help support hundreds of children across Dundee, Angus, Perthshire and North Fife, funding specialist equipment for children with physical disabilities, respite for families with a chronically ill child, as well as helping to fund play schemes and outings for young carers.
Nick Barclay, partner said: "Thorntons has committed to raising money for charity for a number of years and we are always overwhelmed by the support we receive from clients. This year is particularly special as we have a record breaking donation that we are able to give to Cash for Kids.
"The charity is a fantastic local cause that does vital work for children and families across the area. The campaign also provides an opportunity to highlight the importance of having an up-to-date Will."
"We are extremely grateful to our clients for supporting the campaign, and we look forward to trying to break our total again in 2015."
Lynda Sword, Cash for Kids Charity Manager said "The success of Charity Wills over the past few years has been incredible, but to achieve this amount is absolutely amazing.
"It is difficult to explain the impact this will have on the lives of those children who are sick, disabled or underprivileged living within Tayside & North East Fife. Suffice to say that as a result of Thorntons' professionalism and commitment, along with the support of the public, a huge number of children will benefit."
