Following the success of last year's event, Dundee will once again play host to the Sports Challenge Charity Dinner.
Sports Challenge Dinner in aid of ARCHIE Foundation Tayside
Organised by leading investment firm, Thorntons Investment Management, the black tie evening will see guests challenge each other in a Question of Sport style quiz.
Taking place on Thursday 7 May at the Apex City Quay Hotel, Dundee, all proceeds from the night will be donated to local charity, The ARCHIE Foundation of the Tayside Children's Hospital at Ninewells and Children's Aid, a group which supports numerous children's charities across Scotland.
Back to host the evening for the second year is Dundonian and British Lion rugby legend, Andy Nicol, who will be joined by former Scotland footballer and Sky Sports pundit, Alan McInally.
Andy said: "It's a privilege to be returning to home to Dundee for the second Sports Challenge Charity Dinner. I had great fun at last year's event and the generosity of all the guests ensured we raised a fantastic amount for very deserving charities.
"Everyone who attends the night is in for a treat, there is nothing like a good bit of fun competition. Alan and I look forward to seeing as many people there as possible in May."
The event has been running for more than 20 years and dinners are regularly held in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for local and Scottish charities.
Part of the proceeds from the evening will help pay for a new twin theatre surgical suite in Tayside Children's Hospital.
Emma White, head of fundraising in Tayside & Fife at The Archie Foundation, said: "This is a wonderful gesture. It is just the sort of help we need to make a real difference for sick children in Tayside and all the surrounding communities.
"We have a big target to reach but the reaction from companies, like Thorntons and the Sports Challenge Charity Dinner, has been outstanding and we are extremely grateful for their kind help."
The first Dundee dinner was a sell-out, raising more than £22,500 for charity, and organisers hope this year's event will be even more successful.
Stephen Webster, chief executive of Thorntons Investment Management, said: "The support last year's event received was incredible – to raise so much money in just a few hours was brilliant.
"Now the pressure is on to beat last year's total but we are looking forward to the challenge.
"It's great that Andy and Alan will host the night. It's fantastic to see that there is appetite for this kind of event and we are looking forward to another excellent evening of entertainment."
There will be a number of team prizes to be won, with the overall champions taking home the 'Dundee Sports Challenge' trophy as well as the honour of being the top sports brains in Tayside.
Tables of 10 are priced at £1,000 which includes a drinks reception, canapés on arrival and a three course dinner.
There are also a number of sponsorship opportunities available for key parts of the dinner for local businesses to get involved with.
