Dundee's largest law firm has raised a record-breaking amount for Cash for Kids as a result of its annual Charity Wills Campaign.
Thorntons will donate an impressive 23,225 to the charity following their successful annual Charity Wills Month, which was held in November. The campaign aimed to highlight the importance of drawing up a Will, with Thorntons donating its fees from all Wills created or updated to Cash for Kids.
Having run the campaign since 1996, Thorntons have consistently raised a generous amount for the charity, but this year exceeded their previous record of 22,000. The kind donation will go to help support hundreds of children across Dundee, Angus, Perthshire and North Fife, funding specialist equipment for children with physical disabilities, respite for families with a chronically ill child, as well as helping to fund play schemes and outings for young carers.
Nick Barclay, partner at Thorntons, said:
"We are thrilled with the amount of money raised for Cash for Kids during our annual Wills Month. "The charity is a fantastic local cause that we take great pleasure in partnering with in our campaign to highlight the importance of a having an up-to-date Will. "We are extremely grateful to our clients for supporting the campaign, and it's a pleasure to donate such a large amount of money to such a worthwhile charity."
The firm will present the cheque to representatives from the Angus, Dundee and Perth Young Carers on Monday 10 March in the Young Carers Project building, Dundee.
