Following a 7 year term as Joint Managing Partner, Scott returned to mainstream client work in 2019. 

Over a period more than 30 years Scott has developed a broad based dispute resolution and regulatory advice practice reflecting the requirements of the firms varied client base.  He has considerable experience of advising clients of all sizes on how to most effectively resolve many diverse issues, and he is recognised for his swift, practical and cost-conscious advice.

Scott is formerly a member of the Law Society Client Protection Committee which regulates solicitors’ compliance with the Account Rules and adjudicates upon applications from members of the public who seek compensation as a result of the dishonesty of solicitors.  

Scott also holds a leadership role as Chairman of Thorntons Investment Management Limited, a wholly owned company spun out of Thorntons Solicitors in 2014 and which currently manages more than £650m of clients’ assets.
