Nicola McCafferty

Nicola has over 12 years’ experience specialising in commercial real estate in Scotland. She advises a variety of public and private sector clients with her main expertise being in acquisitions, disposals, developments, funding and securities, commercial leasing for landlord and tenant, and dealing with complex title issues. She also has a particular interest in ‘unique’ premises such as caravan sites, petrol stations and complex development sites and enjoys advising on niche and ‘out of the ordinary’ aspects that can arise in dealing with many commercial properties.

Nicola's recent work includes: advising a Scottish University on a multi-million pound purchase of a large multi-let office and research building; advising in the acquisition of a large vacant site and subsequent numerous leases of offices and industrial units thereon to local, national and international tenants on both short term and long term basis’;  advising and acting for a large life science institute in relation to servitude rights and other rights and obligations applicable to their property; acting for tenant clients in their occupation of a new retail mall in Edinburgh; assisting Thorntons corporate team in various business acquisitions and disposals; acting on behalf of a landlord in the disposal of part of their property portfolio; and, completing the purchase of various new residential development sites throughout Dundee and drafting Deeds of Condition for the subsequent sale of residential dwellings thereafter.
