Graham is Director of Construction Law based in our Dundee Office. He has over 20 years’ experience acting for public and private sector clients on construction and procurement matters. His practice is a mix of public and commercial transactions, advisory work and dispute resolution giving practical and sound legal advice.
He drafts and negotiates construction contracts, including building contracts and sub-contracts, consultancy agreements, collateral warranties, novation agreement, bonds and guarantees, as well as development real estate transactions.
Graham advises on procurement issues, including advice on the terms of invitations to tender, contract documents and evaluating tenders, as well as compliance with the various procurement and concession regulations and including pursuing and defending claims of breaches of those regulations.
He advisee on construction disputes, including negotiating settlements, carrying out construction adjudications and advising on arbitration and litigation.
Graham is Accredited as a Specialist in Construction Law by the Law Society of Scotland and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is the author of An Introduction to Construction Law in Scotland (W. Green), which offers an introduction to the field for construction professionals and solicitors and has revised and updated the Building Contracts chapter of the Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia. Graham also is the Secretary of Tayside Construction Forum.
