Gareth is our Infrastructure & Cyber Security Manager, working with Sarah Blair, Director of Technology and Transformation and Partner Gordon McBean. He has 20 years of experience working in IT, with over 15 years’ experience in IT management roles, and manages the IT infrastructure team and cyber security here at Thorntons.
The IT infrastructure team deal with IT support, server management and maintenance, network and infrastructure design and management, and application environment support. They also handle virtualization design and implementation, and Cloud IaSS, PaSS and Sass design, implementation and support.
With cyber security, Gareth ensures we have the correct controls, tools and technology in place to keep our users protected and our data secure. This is an area he is particularly interested in, and he keeps up to date with developments and learning opportunities. He also enjoys working collaboratively with suppliers to deliver the best outcome possible for Thorntons.
Gareth holds a BSc Computing (with Distinction), and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Prince2 Practitioner and a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.
