Claire acts for a wide range of clients who have suffered an injury through no fault of their own.
She advises clients on a variety of personal injury claims including clinical negligence, employers liability, public liability and road traffic accident claims. Claire also deals with both pre-litigated and litigated cases in both the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts.
Claire is very experienced in advising on clinical negligence claims. She has dealt with a range a of complex medical negligence claims including amputation cases, birth injury claims, spinal injuries, claims concerning surgical errors, misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis claims. She also has experience of litigating complex high value cases in both the Court of Session and the All-Scotland Personal Injury Court. Prior to her traineeship, Claire worked as a Paralegal and gained experience in dealing with a mixed caseload of employer liability, public liability and road traffic accident claims.
She understands that most of her clients have not been through the claims process before, so she is able to convey complex legal and medical information in a way that they are able to understand. She aims to make the process straightforward to help her clients achieve the best possible resolution for their claim. Claire also focuses on building up relationships with her clients in order to support them through the entire claims process.
Outside of the office, Claire offers support to students as a supervising solicitor at the Free Legal Advice Clinic at the University of Edinburgh.
Claire has also been recognised as a key lawyer in the Legal 500 directory for the last three years. She is also listed as an 'Associate to Watch' for Clinical Negligence in the 2024 Chambers and Partners directory.
