Dual qualified in Scots and English law
Chris is an experienced Corporate Finance and Restructuring lawyer qualified in both Scotland and England and Wales.
He has acted corporate acquisitions and disposals for around 25 years, and has an intimate understanding of the issues which may arise in a company sale. In addition to acting in corporate mergers and acquisitions, Chris also advises clients in relation to debt finance and equity investment into their companies, and acts for a wide range of lenders in putting into place their loans and security packages.
Chris has considerable experience in corporate restructuring, both solvent restructuring (including mergers and demergers) and insolvent restructuring, and regularly acts for both administrators and liquidators and those buying businesses from insolvency.
Chris is very active in the social housing sector, frequently advising housing associations on finance issues and corporate governance. He is a voluntary board member of Link Group, one of Scotland’s largest housing associations.
Originally qualified as a solicitor in Scotland, Chris is also now qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales, and also holds the Securities and Investments Institute’s Certificate in Corporate Finance.
