A team of five from legal firm Thorntons is gearing up to take part in the Abertay University Tour de Tay cycle challenge on Saturday 29 September.
Participants can take on a 50-mile route from Newport or 25-mile route from Perth – both providing scenic views along the banks of the River Tay. This year’s cyclists from Thorntons have opted for the 50 mile challenge.
All money raised through registration fees and sponsorship for the challenge will once again go to the Expanding Horizons Scholarship Fund. This fund provides students with the opportunity to study and work abroad as well as supporting students from around the world who wish to study at Abertay University.
As platinum sponsors for this year’s event, Thorntons is proud to pledge its support for Tour de Tay 2018 and Expanding Horizons.
Carol Ann, Head of Alumni and Development Abertay University, said: “The challenge gives us an opportunity to engage with the local community and is pitched at a level that can be enjoyed by both serious cyclists and those out for a more leisurely, family experience.
“Our thanks goes to Thorntons Solicitors our platinum sponsor as well as our other sponsors and those fundraising for the Expanding Horizons Scholarship Fund. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces, and many new ones, out on the road.”
