Thorntons have been awarded a place on a panel of legal firms chosen to provide advice and services to the Scottish Government, along with a wide range of public bodies and agencies.
From within this legal services framework, the team at Thorntons will be on hand to handle issues relating to debt recovery, contracts and property, as well as commercial and corporate matters.
The firm, which has recently enjoyed record success and sustained growth, has also been appointed to provide a "One Stop Shop" service within the framework.
Almost 120 public bodies will now be able to appoint work to the panel on the framework as part of a contract that will run for the next four years.
Craig Nicol, Joint Managing Partner at Thorntons, said: "Being appointed to the Scottish Government's legal services framework is a fantastic opportunity for Thorntons.
"We are relishing the chance to make our expertise, experience and professionalism available to a wide range of public bodies over the next four years.
"I have no doubt that the diverse pool of skills and expertise present across all of our offices will prove invaluable to the huge range of Scottish Government bodies and agencies which have access to the framework."
The framework means that for the first time, legal services will be available collectively for the whole of the Scottish central government sector.
