First Dundee Sports Challenge Dinner set to take place in aid of Children's Aid and Dreamflight. Two sporting personalities are set to host Dundee’s first ever Sports Challenge charity dinner, organised by leading investment firm, Thorntons Investment Services.
The Black Tie event will take place on Thursday, 8 May, and will see guests challenge each other in a Question of Sport style quiz challenge.
Hosted by Sky Sports presenter, Jim White, and Scotland and British Lion rugby legend, Andy Nicol, all proceeds from the night will be donated to Children’s Aid and Dreamflight, which sends terminally ill children on a holiday of a lifetime.
Andy, who regularly presents on BBC Sport, said: "I am delighted to be hosting the Dundee Sports Challenge Dinner in May - it is sure to be a fantastic night. It is the perfect combination of good fun, good competition and great fund raising for such worthy charities in Children's Aid and Dreamflight."
The event has been running for more 20 years and dinners are regularly held in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for local and Scottish charities.
The first Dundee dinner will be held in the Apex Hotel and there will be a number of team prizes to be won with the overall champions taking home the ‘Dundee Sports Challenge’ trophy as well as the honour of being the top sports brains in Tayside.
Stephen Webster, head of investment services at Thorntons, said: “At Thorntons, we are always looking at new ways to raise money for charity and this is the perfect opportunity to bring an exciting and fun event to Dundee, while raising vital funds Children’s Aid and Dreamflight.
“This is the first time the Sports Challenge Dinner has been held in the city and we are thrilled that Jim and Andy will be our comperes for the night. Both men have a great sense of humour and will no doubt be popular with the guests.”
Tables of 10 are priced at £1,000 which includes a drinks reception, canapés on arrival and a three course dinner.
