Leading full-service law firm Thorntons is supporting Arbroath FC Community Trust’s Cosy Coats Campaign for the third year, collecting donations that will provide warm winter coats to families within the local community.
The annual Cosy Coats Campaign has proven to be a vital resource for many during the colder months. Last year, the Community Trust distributed 289 coats to families and individuals identified as likely to benefit from warm clothing—a 400% increase on the previous year.
The Cosy Coats Campaign, spearheaded by Arbroath FC Community Trust, is a key initiative to ensure that no one in the local area is left without appropriate clothing during the harsh winter months. They ask for donations of jackets, coats, hats, scarves and gloves that are in good condition, with no rips, tears, or stains. All jackets are checked before they are handed out.
Thorntons' colleagues, clients, and the wider community have again been invited to donate new or gently worn coats, ensuring that as many people as possible stay warm this winter. Collection points are available across Thorntons' Angus offices in Montrose, Arbroath and Forfar, making it easy for everyone to get involved and make a difference.
Stuart Mackie, Partner, Thorntons, said:
“Winter can be a very difficult time of year for families, and we have seen first-hand Cosy Coats’ positive impact on those in need. We hope to surpass last year’s donation and encourage everyone to participate in this meaningful cause.
“We are accepting donations at multiple Thorntons offices across Angus, and we’d be grateful for any donations of unused winter jackets or clothing.”
Georgia Carter, community development manager at Arbroath Football Club Community Trust, said:
“Last year we handed out nearly 300 coats through the great work of a number of volunteers and generous donations. We hope to continue the success of this programme, providing support for some of our most vulnerable individuals in the area, and so we ask for the generosity again from anyone who may have a spare jacket that could be put to good use.
“Thank you on behalf of Arbroath FCCT and Thorntons for helping support this fantastic initiative."
Thorntons encourages individuals to donate coats from 1 October until 9 November. Anyone who needs a jacket can collect one at Gayfield Park on a match day or throughout the week.
