Arbroath social enterprise Community Connectors is aiming to rejuvenate the town centre with plans for a Farmers Market Stall event this summer.
Community Connectors believes the initiative will help drive footfall and provide a boost to local traders – and it’s calling out for support from local businesses.
Leading law firm Thorntons, which has an office at Brockthockbank House and an estate agency office on the High Street in the town, presented the group with a cheque for £500 this week to help fund the running costs of its Farmers Market Stall event on Saturday 26 August.
George Dunlop, Partner at Thorntons’ Arbroath office, said: “We are always proud to show our support for local groups, especially an organisation like this which aims to invest in and freshen up the offering in Arbroath town centre.”
Morag Lindsay, from Arbroath Community Connectors, said: “We are really excited to be holding a market stall event on Arbroath High Street and Market Place in August. We hope this is going to lead to regular market events to bring folk into the town.
“Thank you so much to Thorntons for your generous sponsorship which will cover some of the costs.
“The aim of our volunteer group is to take steps to rejuvenate the town centre and if you can help us with some sponsorship please contact us as we need a lots of support to make the market day a big success.”
