Freedom of Information in Scotland celebrates its 20th year this year. During this time, this legislation has helped to ensure public authorities are more open, transparent, and accountable to the public. The legal right to information held by public authorities has been well utilised with 1.4M FOI requests being reported to have been made so far.
This webinar, led by Loretta Maxfield, Partner, looks at the impact FOI legislation has had on public accountability and more importantly, what the future may hold for FOI in Scotland, particularly taking account of proposed reform currently in the Scottish Parliament in the form of the Freedom of Information Reform (Scotland) Bill and the impact this may have on organisations if enacted.
